These are good ways to start learning japanese but soon you’ll have to increase your vocab and pick on mostly used words as well. In such case software like zkanji is perfect. You can use zkanji for learning stroke order, making groups and using them like flashcards and dictionary that helps you with translation from english and vice versa.

Dictionary
Zkanji has “english to japanese” and “japanese to english” dictionary. You can type english word and immediately get japanese translation or equivalent word for the same. You can also browse the words individually if you want to.
Groups
This feature is like flashcards you can make group of words to remember. Add the words based on your study requirement.
Kanji
At the bottom left of the program there is huge database of regularly used kanji. Click on any particular word and see the stroke order, meaning and ON or KUN readings. This section is important if you wish to learn kanji for long term.
Zkanji is free software and also comes with regular update. It also has dictionary database which requires manual download from the site. Once downloaded you have to extract the database in the working directory of the zkanji. It is written in java and you don’t need installation for this software. You can take it anywhere with USB drive.
